Haley Stamats is a dynamic director for opera, theater, and film. Her 2024-2025 season features exciting debuts at OperaDelaware/Opera Baltimore and Charleston Opera Theater, where she will direct back-to-back productions of La bohème. In January, Stamats will return to Pittsburgh Opera as a guest director to lead a new production of Haydn’s Armida. Following this, she will direct a semi-staged production of Maria Stuarda with Opera Baltimore and assistant direct Opera Colorado’s production of La bohème.

Stamats recently completed an exciting 2023-2024 season. Returning to Pittsburgh Opera for her second season as Resident Artist Stage Director, she helmed two new productions: Gluck’s Iphigénie en Tauride and Mazzoli’s Proving Up. Additionally, she served as assistant director for their productions of Il barbiere di Siviglia, Der fliegende Holländer, and La Traviata. In March 2024, she associate directed a poetic new production of Florencia en el Amazonas at Opera San José.

In May 2024, Stamats returned to Arizona Opera, where she showcased her versatility and passion for new works by directing excerpts from Armienta’s Zorro and Ricky Ian Gordon’s Intimate Apparel for their New Works Festival. Her summer was equally exciting, as she joined Wolf Trap Opera as a Directing Fellow. There, she assistant directed their productions of Così fan tutte and Silent Night, in addition to directing their Studio Spotlight scenes program.
